Fancy Pants

Here are some projects I made with various FPD papers recently.

The boxed card set was made with About a Girl range and included velvet ribbon from the Holly Jolly range - very lush.

This layout was created with the Father & Son range (doesn't need to be about boys though- 'cos that's my girl). The layout features Green Tara petals in various sizes and Fiskars border punch:

The next layout uses papers from My Family range:

Enjoy your week and be creative!

Happy Birthday Jo

Well here it is. Happy Birthday Jo !!!

I seem to have a thing for harlequin shapes at the moment. This design was originally part of a card class I taught at my LSS last year with a letterpress technique (fun & messy).

I sprayed the inside of the embossing folder with glimmer mist and ran the card through the cuttlebug. Joyful scraps have similar embossing folders which have that nice slightly distressed look to them. The Green Tara flowers started off white, but were sprayed on one side with a dark pink and a lighter colour on the other side. The flower is then folded and petals turned back so both colours show through. A smaller flower was sprayed green and wrapped around the pink flower. The whole thing was then sprayed with iridescent gold and a Daisy Bucket sentiment stamped on the front under the flower. The card was then attached to pink card to complete.

A special card

Well there goes another busy week and the tail end of this year is certainly flying. Kids are back at school (yay) and now I get a chance to post.

This card was made for a special lady and her special birthday (Happy 50th Julie) and boy did I have a blast making it. I used Darkroom Door background harlequin stamp and  pale gold embossing powder, then glimmer misted with Latte and Black Cherry. The tag was stamped with Tim Holtz ATC stamp and embossed with burgundy and soft pink, then glimmer misted with Latte and Old Lace. The tag and card were both edged with a metallic leaf pen for some definition, glimmer glammed with tutu pink and topped off with a glimmer misted butterfly chip, bling and some beautiful ribbon.

I made another wonderful card for another wonderful friend, but can't show you just yet as her card is in the post and I want her to get it first...so you'll have to wait 'til my next post to see that one.

Everyday moments

Here is some wishful thinking - bring on the sun, it seems to have lost it's way slightly. So I came up with this bright, sunny layout - it's very simple, but gives you a warm feeling.

The neutrals of the SRPC Garden Grove Kraft Floral Background, together with the warm orange & bright white of the LYB Traveller Orange Bloom/Orange stripe set off the bright blue of the pool in the photo's. I added a touch of orange to the background and three of the cut out flowers by painting some of the flowers and one of the stripes with Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam Paprika and finishing off with the heading  from LYB Clear Cuts Everyday.

Memory Lane revisited

I forgot to show the add on to the Memory Lane class, so here it is - a set of 3 cards, created with the leftovers from the layout + a sheet of cream card stock. The same techniques were used as well as the Fancy Pants Roadshow paper and Darkroom door products.
