The bastard's back

I will warn you - I need to get this off my chest so this is a bit of a rant and there are no pretty pictures.

For those of you who have been following my blog for a while, you may recall that last year I was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and went through 2 operations and Radioactive Iodine (RAI)Ablation, ended up with paralysis to my vocal nerve and an inconclusive test result. So 6 mths after the RAI, I had more tests and they found that the bastard has come back in the remaining lymph nodes in my neck. The upshot of this is that I have to go through it all again...the surgery, the RAI and all the disruption that entails.

Now I never intended to blog about this, however, I did mention it last year so you wouldn't be surprised my my absences from the blogosphere and that is again why I am writing this as I will be going off air (sort of) at the end of March....but I am also going to take this opportunity to once again thank my fabulously wonderfully gorgeous friends without whom I would have gone even more insane than I already am and to also do a little Public Service Announcement of sorts:

Last year I seemed a bit fragile - NOT this time 'round...this time I am angry. Not at anybody or anything or even God, I'm just mad and not really prepared to put up with crap from anyone. Having said that, this PSA is not directed at anyone in particular (so don't get your knickers in a knot), I am just putting it out there, so you are aware.

I have been told by quite a number of well meaning people that I am "lucky" that it is "only" thyroid cancer  - 'cos" that's the best one to get".....and I have just smiled and thanked them for their concern and well wishes,  can I just say that if you have already been given the diagnoses then you already know this, but at the same time if you are given any diagnoses of cancer --it is NOT good. It is especially not good when you have had cancer before and this is then the second recurrence of yet another type of cancer. Bear in mind these small facts impact on the prognosis.

In the grand scheme of things I know how lucky I am, I have friends who have had breast cancer, ovarian cancer, brain tumour, bowel cancer, lymphoma and quite a few other horrible things. I am not diminishing the severity of these forms of the dreadful disease, but please, no matter how well meaning you are, NEVER say to someone with thyroid cancer "it's the best type of cancer to have" 'cos that's just stoopid and right now will possibly earn you a punch in the nose if you say it to me.

and yes ...anger management is on my list of things to well as .more cards and doing another layout or two and hopefully this phase will pass and the anger will fade.

First layouts of 2012!!

I know I originally said I would try & do a layout a week - well that just wasn't going to happen, so I changed it to a layout a month. In all honesty I did not do one in January, but I did do two this month, so I guess that counts as two layouts in 2 months. Do you see my logic??

So here they are:

Layout 1

Layout 2
Let's see how I go in March.
