but wait there's more

I seem to be on a bit of a roll here:

K&Co paper on black card, Thank you stamp with a red brad, red button and gorgeous red & white twine from Kikki K (another one of my weaknesses)

This card uses lots of bits & bobs - K&Co paper, MME sticker borders, Green Tara red mesh and a chipboard letter.

It's funny how sometimes you buy things because they remind you of your childhood and that was exactly the reason behind the purchase of the K&Co embellishment pack that contained this card with the two girls on it. (I had those dresses!) and they reminded me of the AA Milne illustrations.

Ok, enough reminiscing...the paper was Daisy Bucket and the embellishments as already pointed out K&Co, with a die cut tag and Hero Arts stamp.

fast & furious

no not the movie, the amount of cards I seem to be posting about, 'cos here's some more:

This card uses Bo Bunny paper, a tag which I can't remember the company, a Graphic 45 embellishment and Hero Arts stamp (I think).

The base for this card is double sided cardstock - one side is dark green the other light green. Matted on top is Crate Paper and a Pink Paislee tag.

This one uses Jillibean Soup paper, Prima stamp (ornamental label), Daisy Bucket stamp (words) and some felt flowers.

more oldies but goodies

I have always been a fan of paper companies that put out co-ordinating ranges as I always like it when some of the hard work has already been done, but one of the joys of going through my stash and using old stuff is that I can mix it up and not be so matchy matchy.

This card is made with K&Co paper (from eon's ago) with a journal tag from Pink Paislee and Hero Arts Flowers and some shiny ribbon thrown in for good measure. The stamp is from Kaisercraft.

Now this one uses Basic Grey paper with a Pink Paislee cardstock embellishment and a Hero Arts stamp. Too easy.

I seem to be loving the Autumn tones at the moment even though we are fast approaching spring and this card seems to epitomise that. MME paper with a Pink Paislee Journal tag, a Hero Arts flower and stamp and a Basic Grey brad.

And lastly (well for this post anyway), using Pink Paislee paper and journal tag, a die cut tag, Basic Grey brad and Studio G stamp (it actually is more red in real life, my colour balance seems to be a bit off).

More goodies

Here are a few more cards using my stash. I really don't feel like I'm making much of a dent in it to be honest. It's kind of like Mary Poppins can't quite see the bottom and yet it looks so normal.

Well the products used in this one are not that old...Darkroom Door stamps, glimmer mists, Tim Holtz ticket and Green Tara mesh.

Ok, this one takes me back... I had (still do) a fondness for MME papers, I loved the texture and colours, so ended up with a stash just because I thought they were pretty. Come on you've been there too, be honest. I topped it off with Kaisercraft bling and a butterfly sticker (don't know what company).

Yet another company that I couldn't resist - Basic Grey. The paper was leftover from a layout I did of my daughter in a flamenco costume for ballet. Topped off with MME tag & paper border and white grosgrain ribbon. The stamp is Heidi Swapp.

and lastly, but by no means least...MME paper (I really have a thing for gingham and twill (Foofala)), topped with a Chatterbox (bet that takes you back some) envelope and red button.

Does any of this inspire you to use your oldie but goodies and put them to use?

baked goodies

One of my other favourite things to do apart from papercrafting is baking. Just like playing with paper, I find baking a relaxing zen kinda thing with the added bonus of being edible.....if I get to them before my family that is.

Cold rainy days are perfect for get to stand next to a warm stove, put on a cup of tea and nibble on the end result - pure comfort. Yesterday was such a day and the process went from this:

to this

and then this

Needless to say, there is additional exercise involved so the calories don't take over the world.

a few of my favourite things

I may have used that title before, but I thought I'd share a few things that I love looking at and that mean so much to me:
Good Health

These Willow Tree figurines are lovely, with clean & simple lines that appeal to me.
The smaller ones have been gifts and Chrysalis I bought because it reminds me of my girls...there is actually a photo that I will have to dig out that has them in a very similar pose.

Oh right - that's me, well  I guess I do every now & again after all.

Isn't the little owl tooooo coooote. He sits in a MME sticker tree on a K&Co Greenhouse paper background.

He looks like someone surprised him and just plain makes me smile. Hope he brings a smile to your face toooo.

Three square...

you thought I was going to say meals , right? well in this case no it's three square cards that I made recently:

This one was made using 7Gypsies 6x6 Lille papers, Prima Flower and MME Rubon on a red card stock base.

Also on a red card stock base, this card uses Crate Paper Very Berry paper and K&Co embellishments.

and finally this is on a cream base with Basic Grey paper, Making Memories journal page and K&Co embellishments.

I hope they brighten up your day.

Stranger in our midst

Well it's not everyday that we see a scorpion in our backyard. I have heard of them being around, just not at our place and to be perfectly honest I think he was transported here in the wood shipment we received at the beginning of winter.

He was tiny, about 2cm long and unfortunately (?) he was squished when we found him on one of the logs hubby had set out to dry in the sun.
Winter seems to be winding down now as we have had some lovely days last week, no doubt there will be another cold snap or two before Spring finally arrives and I hope that we don't find any more unwanted guests in our woodpile.

Mojovation returning

Well mojo seems to be returning, so I made some more cards using the Graphic 45 papers and die cuts from Transatlantique and Steampunk Debutante. I also used Tim Holtz die  (Gadget Gears) and Tissue Tape:

This card also features Heidi Swapp clear clock face and behind it Glitz Designs stamp Love Compass.

Fanatical about Botanical

Hmmm.... I got a lovely comment from Cathy P about the Winged Things post  and it got me thinking about the Fanatical About Botanical Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. I feel some mojovation trickling back, so decided to give it a 'tis:

I used MME and Kaisercraft paper and stamps from Pink Paislee - told you I had a thing about flying creatures. For more details on the challenge go visit Moxies Fab World and if you decide to take up the challenge, good luck and bee happy!

Inspired by....

beautiful cards. I love making cards almost as much as I love receiving them. It's pretty much a 50/50 thing, so when I received a truly stunning card from LeAnne I was full of admiration for all the "fussy" cutting that had gone into it. Graphic 45 paper is one of those ranges that just begs to be "fussy" cut as you can see here in the post that LeAnne did about the card.

Most of the cards I made while away were, to be honest, very simple. That's pretty much all I was up for at the time - nice cards with not much effort, but lately I have been craving the challenge of something a bit harder, a bit more involved and while I still do not have the oomph required to create such a work of art as that above, I was inspired by it to do the following, also using Graphic 45 papers (Transatlantique and Steampunk Debutante):
