Such Fun

If you have ever seen the English comedy series "Miranda" you will know that Penny says this all the time in her very upper middleclass posh accent and Miranda makes fun of it. I happen to like the phrase and am off to enjoy a weekend of Such Fun with some of my friends to celebrate my big Five Oh (birthday).

I made these little thank you cards for the girls and the phrase sprang to mind when I saw the Art Impressions stamp. I also had such fun colouring the images.

Let's hope I survive a weekend of eating, drinking and being very merry. Such Fun*!!

*(it really needs to be said in a posh accent)

June Layout

Since I no longer work in the scrapbook industry I make a concerted effort not to buy too much new scrapbooking stuff. It is easy in some ways as I no longer have the pressure of continually coming up with new classes and using new product. But as we all know the hard part is resisting the goodies arriving all the time, so my solution is to use my old paper with newer embellishments. (or new paper with old embellishments, if I really can't resist)

Most of the embellishments I buy, I know I can use on cards also, because let's face it you never really use a whole pack of embellishments on a layout, no matter how hard you try there is always something left over...a bit of ribbon, a button or two, the odd sticker or rub on etc.

This layout was made with old Fancy Pants paper and button and old Clear Expressions transparency, old Bella chipboard letters, old twine and new washi tapes.

Oh, I did also use a new Crafters Workshop stencil and new Amy Tangerine date stamp.(because I could)

Oh and by the way, the layout I posted yesterday was made only using old stuff: Chatterbox and My Minds Eye papers and Heidi Swapp alpha's.

May Layout

Whoops, I forgot to post this layout back in May and here we are halfway through June. My apologies. My youngest daughter liked to eat with great gusto and get stuck right in, I of course had to photograph the mess before cleaning it up.

I went for a simple layout as there were only two photos and doodled not only the edges of everything, but also the basic journaling.

Tarting things up

Some of you may have noticed that earlier this year my blog went minimalist in look. I had some time on my hands yesterday and decided to change it back and make some changes. I hope it makes it easier to navigate.

My posts are now labelled and there is also a tag cloud on the right, so if there are any topics you might be interested in and you may have missed previously, you can now go back & check them out.

I have also added a "Pin It" button for those of you who are as addicted to Pinterest (Pinterest is a tool for collecting and organizing things you love) as I am. I am considering adding a page which will link with my Pinterest boards, but that may have to wait for another day.

Comments and suggestions on the revised look are always welcome. Some posts have not had labels added, but I will be going back to do so. Enjoy the rest of your weekend wherever you may be & whatever you may be doing.

Project Life - May 2013

and here is the May layout.....

Rule Britannia

In honour of the Queen's birthday long weekend here in Australia I thought I'd share a mini travel album I just made:

One of my friends is heading off to England to visit relatives and do a bit of wandering around in the not too distant future. She loves mini albums and has been too busy of late to craft, so I thought I would make her a mini album that she can take with her to journal in & collect momento's along the way. I have left it fairly simple so she can add her own creative touches to it on her return.

 Front & Back Cover

 Envelope

Booklet on the right has 10 pages (not in page protectors) for photos & journaling

Another envelope for collecting bits & bobs

Inside back cover

Most of the pages are either grid or lined for easy journaling. The envelopes and booklet were extended to the same width as the page protectors with strips of paper matching the front & back covers. The outer edges of the covers and the ring reinforcement are cloth tape from 7Gypsies. There are stamped images throughout to add a bit of interest.

Ha! You thought I'd forgotten, hadn't you? Well you were right - I had completely forgotten to post this layout and only remembered when I went to post the May layout....which I will post tomorrow:
