Cards for sale

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather today. Just a quick post to let the folks in Sydney know that on Sunday 9th September Asquith Boys High School is having their annual Community Fun Day.

I will have a stall there selling off all the cards I have made + raw chipboard albums and mini album kits. I am sure there will be lots of other great things to see & do that day and hope to see you there. The cards will be $3 each or 4 for $10, so tell your friends and help me make some room at home (for the next lot I make LOL).

Project Life?

When Project Life first hit back in 2009, I thought what a great idea. Unfortunately way down here in Australia we had to wait a while to get them, so my boil had gone off and I had moved onto something else, but in the back of my mind I still thought what a great system and was so inspired by Becky Higgins, Ali Edwards and Cathy Zielske (and still am).
I admire all those talented people that can scrap chronologically, I am not one of them, so that is why I never really got into it. A photo a day, weekly layouts, even a monthly layout (Leanne at Scrapbooking Australia was teaching this class)...I have never been good at that. I scrap whenever/whatever the mood takes and know that I would not be able to keep it up and can see from blog land that many other people felt this way. They started out with Project Life and then felt lost as they "fell behind" because actual life interrupts the documenting of life. I suppose the point I am trying to make with this post is that you can pick up at any time, it really is never too late.

I mentioned in a previous post about my old travel photos from the 1980's and have taken the plunge into Project Life - my version of it, my life a long time ago....

This is how they looked in the 15"x12" magnetic album where I stuck them over all those years ago.

And this is how they look in my "Project Life" page protectors (+ 3 other photos). I have gone for neutrals through the "new" album to keep it clean & easy and all shopped from my stash, so the only new purchase has been the page protectors.

I have been so hyped by this that I am now looking at what page protectors I need to get for my wedding photo proofs (unscrapped for over 20 years - long story), my dad's photos in a huge variety of sizes (he was a freelance photojournalist and passed away 10 years ago) and my old photos (I have had a camera since I was 12), mainly just to keep them safe, but also in case anyone is ever interested in the stories that go with them.

My traditional scrapbooking may have to take a backseat for a while, we will just have to see.
